Asleep - The Smiths
The Perks of Being a Wallflower trailer has just been released, and I’m posting this song out of celebration. This is the song Charlie was referring to when he felt infinite. It’s funny how much of an effect a song can have on you. For Charlie, it was that he liked the lyrics, he included this song in a mixtape for someone special, and he was listening to it with the most important people in his life. We all have that song; a song that brings us back to our pasts and make us wish for nothing more than to stay there. What I do find strange about this is that this song is about suicide and wanting to die, yet when Charlie listened to it, he felt on top of the world and was in the moment. I guess it’s less about the meaning of the song, and more about the meaning of everything he associated it with.
